Built for YOU!

Programs designed to help you every step of the way.

  • Colorado Chafee

The Colorado Chafee Foster Care Independence Program (Chafee) supports youth and young adults aged 14-23 in overcoming the hurdles of living independently. The program includes financial aid for education and training, employment resources, help finding affordable housing, life skills training, and access to personal guidance and support through coaches, mentors, and therapists.

  • Youth in Transition (YiT)

The Youth in Transition (YiT) program is for young adults who were in DHS or DYS custody between ages 16 and 18, are now over 18, and at risk of homelessness. YiT helps these young adults transition to adulthood by providing access to education and vocational programs, enrolling in Medicaid, helping you find and keep a job, securing housing, teaching financial skills, obtaining essential documents like a driver's license and birth certificate, and creating a personalized plan for your future. To join YiT, you must voluntarily re-enter DHS care.

  • Fostering Success

The Fostering Success Housing Voucher provides housing vouchers and case management services to former foster youth in Colorado. The program includes educational support, healthcare assistance, employment and housing aid, financial support, help with obtaining essential documents, and life skills guidance. Depending on your circumstances and program guidelines, the voucher may provide up to 100% of the cost of your rent.

  • Foster Youth to Independence (FYI)

The Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) Housing Voucher program offers 36 months of rental assistance. It includes help with rental deposits, housing costs, and ongoing case management to help you build independent living skills. You can renew the voucher if you meet the eligibility criteria, follow the program requirements, and show progress toward independence. Renewal eligibility and duration periods depend on your individual situation.
